The musings of a semi-retired retard

The Aftermath

On Monday Fred, Ann and Ian did us the favour of going off on a sighseeing tour, allowing us time to relax a little and come to grips with organising all the leftovers. Gradually over the remainder of the week our family and guests departed and at least daily trips to the airport resulted.

The laundry has been in full swing for a few days and the mountain of ironing has been tackled. Life is not yet back to normal but getting there. I never thought I would say this but I am looking forward to early nights and small meals and no alcohol.

Ralph and Marta hosted another barbecue for Dubai contingent plus Ailsa and Barry so we trooped down the coast on Thursday having dropped Ewan off at the airport earlier in the day and I was not unhappy to be designated the driver for once as I really could not face another night of beer and wine. As it was I scarcely did justice to the excellent barbecue that Ralph laid on and I was desperate to get home as soon as the meal was over.  This time the weather was typical of June and the mosquitoes came out in force.  Marta produced her spectacular Tiramisu which made Barry very happy (and the rest of us too!)
